HEALTH IMPACT ASSESSMENT

for RENEW MISSOURI

fall 2024

Researched health impacts of a coal plant retirement scenario in southeastern Missouri as part of a Stanford Law School policy lab LAW 809U: Renewable Energy Transition in Rural America.

As a part of a class I took in the spring, LAW 809U: Renewable Energy Transition in Rural America, my group and I researched health impacts from a hypothetical retirement scenario for the New Madrid coal power plant in partnership with Renew Missouri, an organization advocating for renewable energy adoption in Missouri. We included respiratory health measures as well as impacts to social determinants of health.

As part of this research, I cowrote a report for Renew Missouri published by Stanford Law School's Law and Policy Lab and the Stanford Center for Human and Planetary Health.
